Hormone & Endocrine Balance

Hormones are created in the liver from blood cholesterol, which in turn depends on minerals — chiefly magnesium and iodine. Balancing those precursors, cleansing the liver and clearing xenoestrogens brings the whole endocrine axis back into range.

  1. 01

    Iodine and Iodide

    Start here

Every hormone in the body requires iodine — and it protects prostate, breast, ovary, brain and thyroid tissue while blocking radioactive uptake. Detox the competing halides (perchlorate, bromide, fluoride, chlorine) including with a shower filter. 30 mg per day for 30 days, then 20 mg per day for three months, then 10 mg thereafter. Expect increased energy, metabolism, speed of thought and pineal decalcification.

  2. 02

    Vitamin D (Cholecalciferol)

    Third wave

Vitamin D acts more like a hormone than a vitamin — mood, immunity, bone health, calcium absorption and cardiovascular function all depend on it. Aim for 30 minutes of sun daily without sunscreen and avoid chlorinated showers for two days after, or supplement at least 24,000 IU per day (32,000 IU in winter). Keep vitamin K high with kale in the morning smoothie so the D is absorbed.

  3. 03

    Ashwagandha and Siberian Ginseng

    Third wave

Potent adaptogens that stimulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis to restore hormone balance while raising strength, sex drive, vitality and adaptability. Mix them and take ½ tsp daily in smoothies, juice, pipa or water for 60 days, then twice per week to maintain.

  4. 04

    Magnesium Chloride

    Third wave

The most alkaline mineral in the body and the one the adrenals burn through fastest. Magnesium chloride is the most bioavailable form — close to an IV dose — and shifts sleep, muscle tone, heart rhythm and digestion quickly. 1 tsp in water morning and evening for 30 days, then ½ tsp twice daily. Take at least 2 tsps per day while fasting or cleansing.

  5. 05

    DIM from Broccoli Sprouts

    Second wave

Diindolylmethane clears xenoestrogens — the synthetic estrogen mimics behind much modern hormone disruption. Found in broccoli and far more concentrated in broccoli sprouts, or supplemented directly alongside the liver cleanse.

  6. 06

    Mucuna

    Second wave

The largest plant source of L-dopa, precursor to dopamine, which governs happiness and blood pressure. It also carries serotonin, hydroxytryptophan and more. 1 tsp in the morning smoothie daily for 30 days, then twice per week — or mixed into your daily decoction. Reduces anxiety and stabilises low blood pressure.
